Intell will lay off more tan 15,000 employees as part of new cost-reduction plan

Intel is going through a very difficult period after losses of $1.6 billion for the second quarter of 2024. The company is planning to shed 15% of its workforce, which is more than 15,000 people worldwide.

What's more, the company has officialized a new $10 billion savings plan for 2025. R&D and marketing costs will be cut by several billion until 2026, and non-essential work will be cut. All projects under development will be evaluated to assess their viability.

After all this, around 19,000 of Intel's 125,000 employees will be gone.
