The release of AMD's new processors could have been slightly delayed due to a chip fault
, by Quentin
Last week we told you about a slight delay in the release of AMD's new processors, from July 31 to August 8 for the Ryzen 9600X/9700X and to August 14 for the 9900X/9950X. Since then, there have been many rumors and speculation about the reason behind this.
While AMD claimed that this delay was due to the fact that the first models didn't meet the desired quality, it may very well be that it's mainly due to a typing error on the chips.
Indeed, the first batches of Ryzen 9000 processors were mislabeled, with the Ryzen 7 9700X model bearing the Ryzen 9 9700X name instead, a simple error that could be the cause behind this delay.
