Valve improves demo visibility on Steam
, by Thibaut
While there are few demos than ever in consoles, that's not the case at all on Steam! That's why Valve has decided to improve how they appear on the store.
Users can now add a demo to their game library without having to install it then. It will be possible to keep it while owning the full game too. Demos can also be removed from your account, and once you delete them they will disappear from your library.
Demos can have its own page on the online store, too. They appear as a game on its own, but there's a button that directs the user to the game page. What's more, you can now rate demos too!
In addition, Steam will display demos more clearly, with a display similar to the one reserved for free-to-play games. Indeed, they will appear on the New and Trending section.
Finally, those who add a demo to their whish list will get a notification when it's available.
