Ubisoft apologizes for the controversy surrounding Assassin's Creed Shadows
, by Thibaut
The marketing team for Assassin's Creed Shadows seems to have made a few missteps. Indeed, the game has ended up being target of all kinds of petitions, as well as part of the Japanese community, following the addition of motifs belonging to the Sekigahara Teppo-Tai group.
Ubisoft has been keen to apologize to Japanese gamers, though without mentioning any precise reason. The publisher has stressed the fact that "[...] some elements in our promotional materials have caused concern within the Japanese community".
In the Japanese translation, the message states that "the motif in question will not be used or distributed in the future, with the exception of its inclusion in the Collector's Edition artbook". Ubisoft ends by apologizing in this regard.
