Steam is run by less than 80 people at Valve

As part of its lawsuit with Wolfire Games, Valve has been forced to make public some of its internal documents. Thanks to those files (though they contain some redacted passages), we've been able to learn a little more about how the company operates.

In 2021, Valve had 336 employees, and only 79 managed Steam. This may very well seem a small number, given the store's popularity. After all, it welcomes around 10.000 new games a year.

These 79 people are divided across several divisions, such as technical operations, UI, networking, sales and purchasing, provider management and security.
