Xbox Game Pass prices will rise and a new tier is coming

It seems that (almost) everyone's fears have become true. Windows Central has just reported that, according to Microsoft, Xbox Game Pass prices will soon rise.
First, Game Pass Ultimate goes up from the present $16.99 to $19.99 per month. PC Game Pass will now cost $11.99 per month and not $9.99. The annual price for Xbox Game Pass Core will rise from $59.99 to $74.99, though the monthly fee will remain at $9.99.
These changes will come to fruition from September 12, 2024.
But that's not all. Xbox Game Pass for consoles will be available to new users only, though existing subs will retain it and all its benefits.
Finally, an Xbox Game Pass Standard offer is coming in September too, priced at $14.99 per month. It will include the game catalog, but not day one releases, and online multiplayer but not cloud gaming.
