Nintendo will do its best effort to avoid scalping by producing enough Switch 2s

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa made a few statements about Nintendo's next console, which the trade press is dubbing Switch 2 for lack of an actual, better name.

This took place during a question-and-answer session with the Japanese firm's shareholders. In response to fears about the potential scalping of Nintendo's future machine, the company replied very clearly:

"To combat resale, we believe that the most important thing is to produce sufficient quantities to meet customer demand, and this has not changed since last year."

So we shouldn't have any trouble getting our hands on the Switch 2, as was the case with Sony's PlayStation 5. Shuntaro Furukawa goes even further, stating:

"In addition, we are also considering the possibility of taking other measures, within the framework of the law, taking into account the circumstances in each region".

Finally, Nintendo's President also talks about the shortage of semiconductors experienced by tech companies in recent years. He explains that although last year and even the year before Nintendo was unable to produce enough Nintendo Switch due to this shortage, this situation is now a thing of the past.

"At present, we do not believe that the shortage of components will have a significant impact on the production of the successor model."

Keep in mind that the company confirmed in May that the next console would be announced during this fiscal year, meaning that it will be revealed no later than March 2025.
