, by Quentin
2024 keeps on trucking along with waves of layoffs and plenty of studio closures. Unfortunately, today Avalanche Studios Group, the studio behind the Just Cause license, is announcing both at the same time.
The company has announced a restructuring plan that will result in the loss of 50 positions, as well as the closure of its offices in New York and Montreal. The company will only keep its studios in Stockholm and Malmö in Sweden, and Liverpool in the UK.
In a press release, Avalanche Studios Group explains:
"This is an exceptionally difficult decision, but we believe it’s necessary to ensure a stable and sustainable future for the company. Our focus is now on supporting all Avalanchers through this challenging time. We’re grateful for the invaluable contributions of those leaving and remain committed to creating incredible gaming experiences for our players."
