ASUS give details on the ROG Ally X and pre-orders are already open for July release

After an announcement that didn't give much information on the product, this time ASUS is releasing all the details about its new handheld console, the ROG Ally X.

It has the same AMD APU, the Ryzen Z1 Extreme, which offers great capabilities thanks to its 8 cores based on Zen 4 architecture and its 16 threads, 24 MB of L3 cache and a clock speed of up to 5.1 GHz. Of course, it comes with an integrated RDNA 3 iGPU with 12 compute units clocked at 2,800 MHz.

However, it's on the memory side that the machine improves things. The console includes up to 24 GB of LPDDR5X memory and PCle Gen4 M.2 2280 up to 1 TB for sotrage. ASUS also promises a more ergonomic design and a better battery of 80 Wh this time, twice as much as the original's 40 Wh.

The ROG Ally X is already available pre-order and its release is scheduled for July 2024 at $799.
