Over the past year, Embracer has laid off around 4,500 people.

This week, Embracer Group revealed its results for the last financial year, which ended on March 31, 2024. The Swedish firm is still heavily in debt, but seems poised to bounce back thanks to the numerous budget cuts.

In its report, the company revealed that it had laid off 4,500 employees in the space of a year, which represents 27% of its global workforce. In addition, 80 projects were cancelled during this period. 221 were in development between January and March 2023, compared with the 141 between January and March 2024.
