IGN Entertainment has acquired Gamer Network's sites and lays off part of its staff

We're going to take a look at the video game press for once. This sector has been in crisis for several years now, and this week has been no exception.
IGN Entertainment, the group that owns sites such as IGN, HowLongToBeat and Humble Bundle, has acquired Gamer Network. This company includes some well-known British media such as Eurogamer, GamesIndustry.biz, VG247, Rock Paper Shotgun and Dicebreaker, and also owns shares in Digital Foundry, PureXbox, Push Square and Nintedo Life.
The acquisition led to redundancies, as we can imagine that certain roles were already occupied. It remains to be seen how many employees will be affected, and how much the transaction will cost.
