Digital Foundry looks back at Switch 2 rumours, including the 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM one
, by Quentin
The experts at Digital Foundry are building an habit out of talking about the various rumors and speculation concerning the Switch 2.
This time, they are taking a stab at the famous 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Some go so far as to say that it could offer better texture quality than the Xbox Series X and solve many of the problems of the current Switch model.
For them, even if the console's RAM isn't running at full speed, it should have sufficient bandwidth for the processor, and cross-platform games would have far fewer compromises to make.
What's more, the 12 GB of RAM would also allow the system to switch to more reasonable resolutions using NVIDIA's DLSS. If all this information proves true, then yes, on paper, the Switch 2 could offer some advantages over an Xbox Series S, though not match it in every respect.
