Former Firaxis Games (XCOM) devs have founded Midsummer Studios
, by Thibaut
Here's a brand-new studio that's coming from nowhere this week. We're talking about Midsummer Studios, located in Maryland and founded by Jake Solomon and Will Miller. The former served as creative director of the XCOM franchise and also worked on Midnight Suns.
The Midsummer Studios teams are already hard at work on their first game, a life sim that aims to "revitalize” the genre. Players will be immersed in modern times, and will be able to write "meaningful stories just by playing, and then share those stories with the world.”.
The studio has raised $6 million through partnerships with various investors.
