Remedy has cancelled Project Kestrel, its cooperative multiplayer game

Remedy CEO Tero Virtala has announced in a press release that the Finnish firm has decided to bury its game codenamed “Kestrel”.

Developed in partnership with Tencent, the cooperative multiplayer title had been run by a small team since last November. “Kestrel” was based on the foundations of another rebooted project called “Vanguard”.

In the end, Remedy decided to cancel it in order to focus on its other games in development. The Kestrel team will thus be reassigned to the company's other projects, and the frequency of recruitments will slow down considerably over the coming months.

The studio is still working on Control 2, a multiplayer spin-off entitled “Condor” and Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake.
