Matthew Bromberg, former EA and Zynga executive, will head up Unity

Unity is just coming out from a difficult period. The company responsible for the famous game engine laid off part of its staff and ended up in a controversy over its new pricing policy. As a result, former CEO John Riccitiello decided to resign.

Following an interim appointment by former IBM president Jim Whitehurst, Matthew Bromberg will take the helm of the American company on May 15. In the past, Bromberg served as group general manager at BioWare before managing the entire business side of Electronic Arts' mobile division. He was also director of operations at Zynga.

In a statement, the new CEO said his aim will be "to provide the best integrated platform for creators". All this with the aim of bringing "great games and experiences to their audiences globally".

Matthew Bromberg also aims to accelerate Unity's sales growth and improve the company's overall profitability.
