Starfield is getting its biggest update yet on May 14 with a 60 FPS mode for Xbox Series X and new features

The most ambitious update to date for Starfield has just been announced. The patch is coming on May 15 (and is now available via Steam Beta) and will bring a number of features that many have been waiting for.

Firstly, to facilitate navigation, maps of planet surfaces will be more detailed. In cities, the map will have icons for various points of interest, like stores, restaurants, armories... We will also be able to carry more objects.

What's more, we will get more difficulty options yet. For example, it will be possible to make space battles more difficult, or shootouts easier. The difficulty level selected will change the amount of XP that can be earned. An "extreme" difficulty level will also be available.

Added to this are additional options for customizing ships, with the ability to decorate their interiors. As for the New Game +, once launched, we will be able to change our character's personality traits.

There are good news for Xbox Series X too. A performance mode is coming, with 60 FPS to boot, and those with VRR-compatible TVs will get to choose between 40 or 60 FPS.

Last but not least, a vehicle for faster travel on planetary surfaces will be included in a future update, along with new quests and the Creation Kit for mods.
