The Escape from Tarkov community complains about €250 pay-to-win DLC
, by Thibaut
The Escape from Tarkov community is in upheaval. Battlestate Games' tactical multiplayer FPS is under fire after the launch of a pack called "The Unheard Edition".
Priced at €250, this edition includes instant access to the game's closed beta and cooperative PvE mode with persisten progression, in which users don't lose their progress with each reset. It comes with some weapons and other benefits too.
The first and main complaint from the community comes from the fact that purchasers of the "Edge of Darkness" edition (sold for €100 before being withdrawn from sale) were promised access to all future DLC. However, those won't get access to the PvE mode at all. Community manager Daniel Mavlyuberdinov explained that such mode isn't DLC at all.
But that's not all, "The Unheard Edition" offers better skills and allows users to store more loot, which in turn offers real advantages over the rest. Pay-to-win, really.
In response to criticism, the devs have chosen to block all discussions on almost all channels of their Discord server.
