Due to financial difficulties, Flaming Fowl halts development of Ironmarked and lays off part of its staff
, by Thibaut
Founded in 2016 by former members of Lionhead Studios (Fable), Flaming Fowl has launched two games since its inception. These are the card game Fable Fortune and the tactical RPG Gloomhaver.
For over a year, the British firm was hard at work on a coop RPG called Ironmarked. Alas, development was halted due to "the particular financial situation currently facing the video game industry".
Indeed, the publisher who was to have distributed the title withdrew from the project last summer. Since then, the studio has approached some thirty possible partners, but none has been willing to invest in the game. So, in addition to halting production, Flaming Fowl laid off more than half its employees.
