Former Blizzard president suggests tipping developers after finishing a game

Here's a suggestion that has caused quite a stir over the weekend. Mike Ybarra, former president of Blizzard Entertainment (who left the company last January), who has suggested something to allow players to reward devs.

Blizzard's former CEO would like to see an option to tip the creator. Once you finish a game, a window could pop up to offer a certain sum to the studio responsible for a title that may have left a lasting impression on you

"When I beat a game, there are some that just leave me in awe of how amazing the experience was. At the end of the game, I've often thought "I wish I could give these folks another $10 or $20 because it was worth more than my initial $70 and they didn't try to nickel and dime me every second"."

He names Elden Ring, Horizon: Zero Dawn, God of War and Baldur's Gate 3. Of course, this is just a personal opinion from Ybarra, who no longer holds any position in the industry.
