The film Return to Silent Hill will have a slightly different story than the second game

Last October, Konami announced several projects around its survival-horror franchise. A feature film titled Return to Silent Hill, directed by Christophe Gans, was briefly teased. While the movie will draw heavily from the story of Silent Hill 2, some changes are expected. For instance, protagonist James Sunderland will go to the infamous town to find "his lost love Mary Crane". This suggests that the two lovers are not married, which is the case in the game. Additionally, a new character named Jacob Crane will be introduced in the film. He is expected to serve as an antagonist. Actor Jeremy Irvine is rumored to be part of the cast.
