Bit Reactor is giving it all for their next Star Wars strategy game
, by Thibaut
One of the few projects to survive EA's policy change last February is a Star Wars strategy game by Bit Reactor, and the American studio has been interviewed on it by PC Gamer.
During the interview, Art Director Daanish Syed and Technical Director Ryan McFall discussed their personal ambitions for the game. As far as visual style of the title is concerned, the team wants to "develop our own language that fits within Star Wars, but also feels unique to this game".
Bit Reactor also wants to offer players as many possibilities as possible, allowing them to use a keyboard and mouse or any controller. As the latter isn't always well optimized for this type of game, we imagine that lots of effort is going to make the title fully playable on it. The primary objective is to broaden "people's perception of what the experience actually is of playing a strategy game".
It seems we won't necessarily be faced with a pure strategy game. It should be noted that the devs have at no point described their baby as an "RTS".
