Relic Entertainment announces around 40 redundancies after going independent
, by Thibaut
On March 28, SEGA and Relic Entertainment announced that they were going separate ways. The dev studio responsible for Company of Heroes regained their independent status and, why not, a better future.
Unfortunately, the Canadian company has been hit by some redundancies. On LinkedIn, external dev producer Robyn Smale announced the departure of 41 people.
*"Laying people off was not an easy decision, but it was taken with the sole aim of giving Relic the best chance of survival in an increasingly volatile industry. It in no way reflects the expertise, passion or character of the employees involved," said Relic Entertainment in a statement posted on LinkedIn.
