The second Super Mario Bros. film is expected to release in April 2026

Released in April 2023, the Super Mario Bros. film by Illumination studio exceeded $1.3 billion at the box office, so it should come as no surprise that Nintendo is making a sequel.
The Japanese company recently announced that Super Mario Bros. 2 will be released on April 3, 2026 in the United States and in the rest of the world that same month.
The sequel is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic. The screenplay is by Matthew Fogel. Shigeru Miyamoto, the license's creator, will of course be involved throughout production.
The film will be distributed worldwide by Universal Pictures.
