Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Remake performance on consoles doesn't hold up

Just out now on consoles and PC, the remake of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons leaves a lot to be desired in technical terms. Indeed, while the game runs on Unreal Engine 5 and it does wonders for the graphics, the title's definition on consoles is bad. Really bad.

Digital Foundry's YouTube channel already has a video on the game, dissecting the technical aspects of it. In quality mode, the definition ranges from 1620p and 1260p on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Things get interesting for the Xbox Series S, as it falls between 454p and 720p. All at 30 FPS, of course.

But what about performance mode? Well, the PS5 and Xbox Series X are at 1080p, but fail to get a hold of the 60 FPS mark, with plenty of drops to 45 FPS. Meanwhile, Series S retains the 454p and 720p range, but mostly 454p. Again, the game fails to hold on to 60 FPS, as there are plenty of framerate drops.
