The group that claimed to have hacked Epic Games admit they lied
, by Thibaut
Last week, a group called Mogilevich announced that it had seized 200 GB of data in attack on Epic Games' servers. Later, the American brand claimed to have found no evidence to support the veracity of such an attack.
In the end, the main parties involved backed down, admitting that they had lied about their actions. The group also clarifies that its members are not hackers, but just "professional fraudsters".
The members of Mogilevich say they wanted people to believe they had tools capable of hacking into major corporations. The aim was then to resell these fake tools to real hacker groups.
