One of the designers behind the Call of Duty: Black Ops franchise has set up his own studio

Last summer, David Vonderhaar announced his departure from Treyarch after almost 19 years of loyal service. He was involved in the creation of eight Call of Duty games and led the design of the multiplayer mode for virtually all of them.

Today, we learn that Vonderhaar has founded a new studio called Bulletfarm. The Los Angeles-based company's teams work mainly remotely. The creative director is Chris Cowell, who has also been involved in the production of various Call of Duty titles (Modern Warfare 2019, Warzone, Black Ops - Cold War).

All these people are working on an ambitious AAA game developed in partnership with Chinese giant NetEase. The Unreal Engine 5 will be used on this title, which will focus on cooperative gameplay in an original universe.
