Sony believes that Bungie needs to better manage its expenses and development deadlines

Last November, Bungie announced the layoff of around 100 people. Shortly afterwards, some employees expressed fears of a total takeover by Sony. The Japanese company bought the studio in January 2022.

Just after the announcement of the company's financial results, Sony president Hiroki Totoki was asked about the current state of Bungie. Among other things, Totoki noted that employees are "highly motivated", have great creativity and "impressive knowledge of live services".

However, Totoki also felt that Bungie could improve "from a business perspective", on expenses and "development timelines". He hopes to find solutions in the coming months.
