Independent studio Threshold Games shuts down before its first game is released

Alas, there will be no new games from Threshold Games. Based in Seattle, founded in 2019 and made up of a dozen people, the company closes for good this week.

The studio was working on its very first game, which will unfortunately never see the light of day. Veterans from Sucker Punch, Riot Games and Warner Bros. Games were at work on the project until last week.

On LinkedIn, the company vaguely mentions "extenuating circumstances" to explain its closure. The company also added another message.

"We're sorry we won't get to fully realise our studio's vision. While our project won't make it to the finish line, we are deeply grateful for our team's passion, talent, and dedication over the course of development."
