Tencent won't be buying Dungeons & Dragons after all
, by Thibaut
This past week, some rumors were circulating that Tencent would possibly take over the Dungeons & Dragons license. Indeed, Hasbro was reportedly looking to part company with the franchise due to financial concerns.
However, this was denied by Swen Vincke, CEO of Larian Studios, which is 30% owned by Tencent. On X.com, the main interested party made the following statement.
"It's silly that I should do a tweet about not buying something that is not for sale so I won't. But in case you're wondering, we're not. Hope that clears it up."
Finally, Wizards of the Coast has also denied this hypothetical acquisition.
