Most of Activision's esport team made redundant

We're still on the subject of the 1,900 redundancies announced by Microsoft last week. As it happens, another team has been particularly affected by this decision.

This time, it's Activision's esport department. According to CharlieIntel, most of the staff has been made redundant, with only a dozen people left in this sector. Microsoft waited until the end of the Call of Duty League (held from January 25 to 28) to announce the bad news to the teams.

On X.com, Scott Parkin, former senior manager of esport operations at Activision Blizzard, made no secret of his frustration.

"They did it, they actually did it. They let us work with that over our heads and fired us on our first day off. This lack of common decency is a joke."
