According to a report, 2024 will be the year of studio closures

In 2023 alone, over 10,000 developers were laid off in the video game industry. It's been a dark period for the sector, and the trend is clearly not set to improve.
In a report published by GamesIndustry.biz, several CEOs spoke anonymously about the state of the industry in 2024. Alas, the findings are pessimistic, to say the least.
"If 2023 was the year of layoffs, 2024 will be the year of closures. Not just developers, but publishers, media, service companies... There are just too many unprofitable businesses in video games."
So we can expect some sad announcements in the weeks and months to come.
