GDC survey reveals that 8% of developers surveyed claim to be working on the next Switch
, by Quentin
According to the recent GDC State of the Game Industry 2024 survey, which brought together over 3,000 video game developers from both independent studios and major (AAA) companies, 8% of those questioned admitted to working on titles for the Nintendo Switch's successor.
That's a total of 250 people. What's more, 32% of survey participants said that Nintendo's next console is the one they're most interested in at the moment, behind the PlayStation 5 and the PC. It should be remembered that no official announcement has been made by the Japanese firm concerning the existence and/or imminent arrival of a new console.
It's also worth pointing out that some of the people we interviewed may have chosen not to reveal whether they were working on a Switch 2-related project, thus preserving the utmost secrecy.
