The director of The Last of Us Part II Remastered doesn't understand the consternation surrounding the remastering

Every announcement of a new remaster is accompanied by a little controversy. Indeed, some gamers don't necessarily understand the point of re-releasing a game, especially if it was launched fairly recently.
Such is the case with The Last of Us Part II, which will be getting a remaster on PS5 barely three and a half years after the release of the PS4 version. In an interview with VGC, Matthew Gallant, director at Naughty Dog, commented on this kind of disenchantment.
"I don’t understand some of the consternation about what The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered offers. [...] We want to get you the best experience with all the hardware features on a PS5 native version of the game."
"My sense is there’s an audience for this for whom the idea of a PS5 version is thrilling. I’m also speaking for myself, I’m excited we can bring this to the fans, and if it’s not for everyone, that’s fine."
