Nintendo could leave its licenses to other developers

This is unexpected news, to say the least, when you factor in Nintendo and its desire to control its licenses from A to Z. Throughout its history, it has rarely allowed other development studios to touch its brands.
However, it would appear that the Japanese firm is beginning to allow more developers to create games based on its popular characters. According to GamesIndustry, Nintendo is in talks with at least three studios to create new titles based on the company's IPs.
For the moment, the names of these studios remain unknown. We'll see if this materializes in the months and years to come.
