Despite mixed reviews, Sonic Frontiers has sold well

SEGA has expressed satisfaction with the commercial performance of its latest Sonic game. Indeed, the Japanese publisher has stated that "the number of units sold has far exceeded the annual projections established at the beginning of the fiscal year. This is a title that we will continue to sell over the long term thanks to our sales strategies, such as promotions and the development of free DLC." Additionally, SEGA has acknowledged that the Metacritic average obtained by Sonic Frontiers is well below initial expectations.
