Geoff Keighley admits that the time allotted to the Game Awards winners' speeches was too short

While the 2023 edition of the Game Awards was well received by the audience, some people were more critical, mostly about the time devoted to the winners' speeches, which was greatly reduced this year.

So much so that the winners were given just 30 seconds to wrap up their thank-yous before music forced them to finish in a hurry. There was even a growing sense of discontent among industry professionals. Geoff Keighley, the event's producer, spoke out.

In a tweet, he acknowledged that the time allotted to the speeches was far too short, and that the music started too early. He also stated that improvements would be made in this area for the Game Awards 2024.
