New info on Agent, Rockstar Games' cancelled PS3 exclusive
, by Thibaut
At E3 2009, Sony made official the existence of Agent, a new Rockstar Games license expected to be exclusive to the PS3. Alas, the game never launched on the Japanese manufacturer's console or at all.
This week, Obbe Vermeij, a former developer of the star-spangled company, spoke about this project. The reason for the cancellation was that Rockstar wanted to prioritize the development of GTA IV and avoid spreading itself too thin.
Agent was to take its inspiration from James Bond and offer a more linear adventure. The player would have been propelled into the 70s at the height of the Cold War. A French Mediterranean town, a Swiss ski resort, Caico in Brazil or even a trip into space served as backdrops.
