SEGA to adapt several of its major licenses for the cinema

There's no denying it, Sonic has succeeded in its conversion to cinema. The blue hedgehog's films have attracted millions of viewers worldwide, and SEGA intends to repeat the feat with its other franchises.

On CNBC, Chief Operating Officer Shuji Utsumi stated that "we have other major IPs and also, I cannot say too much about it, but we are thinking of reviving other classical Sega IPs too."

Series such as Yakuza (now called Like a Dragon) and even Persona could be coming to cinemas in the not-too-distant future.
