Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier reports further behind-the-scenes details on the development of the new Call of Duty.
In one article, we learn that Modern Warfare III was produced in less than a year and a half. By way of comparison, other games in the franchise take around three full years to develop.
Schreier reiterates that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III was conceived to fill a gap in the series' release schedule. For a long time, the teams at Sledgehammer Games even thought they were working on a simple expansion.
At the launch of Call of Duty: Vanguard, which had taken two years to develop, Activision reportedly promised the studio that it would never again develop a game under such stressful conditions and tight timing. Yet events repeated themselves with** Modern Warfare III**, with the teams even working nights and weekends to complete the game.
