Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki would like to make a prequel à la Yakuza 0

While Shenmue III may not have been quite a hit, Yu Suzuki is thinking about the future of the franchise. So much so that the next game in the franchise could very well be a prequel.
In an interview with IGN Japan, Suzuki raised the possibility of creating a new Shenmue à la Yakuza 0, a story about the origins of the characters seen in the trilogy. He would also like to recreate the streets of Dobuita with a more "modern" and "detailed" look.
Finally, as for Shenmue IV, Suzuki would like to make it a more welcoming game for new players. A major departure from the third one, which was primarily aimed at fans.
