Shinji Mikami, the father of Resident Evil, back on game development

Last February, Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami announced his departure from Tango Gameworks. The studio, which he founded in 2010, is known for licenses such as The Evil Within, Ghostwire: Tokyo and Hi-Fi Rush.

Mikami reportedly signed a non-compete clause at the time. According to a message posted on X by the director himself, said clause has now expired. The director states that he is ready to "get to work ". It remains to be seen whether he will create a new studio.
