UK CMA gives provisional go-ahead for Activision Blizzard takeover

Microsoft and the UK's CMA are close to reaching full agreement on the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The Competition and Markets Authority has issued a favourable provisional opinion on the merger.

However, the regulator still highlights "limited residual concerns" regarding the sale of Activision Blizzard's game streaming rights to Ubisoft, with Microsoft having to significantly revise it.

In any case, the final decision will be made by October 18 at the latest.
