As PlayStation Plus prices increase, Sony shares rise in Japan

Last Wednesday, Sony made official the significant increase in annual PlayStation Plus prices, up to 35% depending on the package selected.
While social networking sites were quick to react, the stock markets seem to have appreciated the gesture. In Tokyo on Friday, the giant's share prices jumped 3.4% at the time of writing, its highest level in over a month.
Analyst Amit Garg has estimated that these price increases could bring Sony 378 million in annual operating profits. The firm could even rake in $688 million in additional sales.
