Xbox boss says 'pro' consoles aren't necessary
, by Thibaut
Rumors are already out and about regarding a hypothetical PS5 Pro, and so are expectations of Microsoft to follow Sony's lead with a mid-generation console. It wouldn't be the first time, since both manufacturers did release the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X in the past.
However, Phil Spencer, the boss of Microsoft's gaming division, doesn't seem too inclined to launch an improved version of the Xbox Series X.
"No, as I said, we're kind of at the end of the beginning in my mind. So I think we need to let the developers get on with these consoles (the Xbox Series X and S) and make the most of them."
So, a "mid-gen" refresh is clearly not on the agenda at Microsoft.
