Bethesda answers the controversy surrounding Starfield's menu
, by Thibaut
It's a debate that's been hard to avoid on social networks in recent days. In a tweet, a former Blizzard developer criticised Starfield's menu.
He drew a parallel between the minimalist look of the main menu and the fact that development had been rushed. He also speculates that the team in charge of Starfield simply didn't care about the aesthetics of said menu.
These statements inevitably got the crowd going, right up to Pete Hines, who is in charge of publishing at Bethesda Softworks. He didn't mince his words.
*"Or they designed what they wanted and that’s been our menu for years and was one of the first things we settled on.
Having an opinion is one thing. Questioning out a developer’s 'care' because you would have done it different is highly unprofessional coming from another 'dev'."*
