Rockstar Games acquires Cfx.re, a group that designs modding tools

Another acquisition is on the horizon this weekend. This time it's Rockstar Games that's going on the offense, announcing its intention to buy Cfx.re.
Cfx.re is the name of a company responsible for tools and servers dedicated to role-playing for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2. With this acquisition, Rockstar intends to help Cfx.re "find new ways to support this incredible community and improve the services they provides to their developers and players".
Roleplay in GTA V has been extremely popular for several years now. Players can live out their own stories and use mods that give them access to new features (extended inventory, life simulation elements, law enforcement, etc.).
