PS5 4K cloud gaming to be available by March 2024
, by Thibaut
Earlier this week, we learned that Sony was launching a beta for launching PS5 titles in 4K via cloud gaming.
Called Project Cronos, the service has reportedly been in development for at least five years. This brand-new technology is likely to be built around the PS5's SSD. The Japanese company has thus come up with a novel network storage solution based on the PCIe standard. In its final form, the service should be capable of reading up to 5 GB of data per second with a latency of less than 1 ms.
To achieve such performance, Sony will be relying on 28 different data centers. Finally, Project Cronos will possibly be launched on a large scale before March 2024.
