Three years after release, the price of The Talos Principle 2 has risen from €30 to €40

It’s fairly rare to see the price of a digital game increase several years after its release. Yet that’s exactly what happened to The Talos Principle 2 on October 28.
Released in November 2023, the second installment in the franchise now costs €39.99 on Steam, up from €29.99. To explain its decision, Croteam cited rising game development and maintenance costs.
"The cost of developing and supporting games has continued to rise significantly in recent years, as inflation has pushed costs up around the world. Taking this into account, we’ve made the decision to adjust the base price of the game.
This wasn’t a decision we made lightly, and we understand that nobody particularly enjoys seeing a price go up. We wanted to explain the reasoning behind the change rather than make it without context."
Of course, owners of The Talos Principle 2 will still have access to their digital copy at no additional cost. The price remains set at €29.99 on the PlayStation Store, XBOX Store, and eShop.
