Celeste and TowerFall have been removed from the XBOX Store as part of the BDS campaign against Israel

While Maddy Thorson may not be well known to the general public, she is the creator of two critically acclaimed indie titles. In fact, we have her to thank for the excellent TowerFall and Celeste.

This week, the developer announced that both of her games have been removed from the Xbox Store. This decision was prompted by her support for the BDS movement, which is a nonviolent campaign calling for boycotts, divestment, and sanctions against certain organizations that support Israel. Microsoft is among the companies frequently targeted.

On October 15, the studio House House, known for Untitled Goose Game and Big Walk, also officially announced its boycott of Xbox.
