Messages from certain Discord servers will soon appear on Google
, by Thibaut
There's a small revolution coming to Discord. The popular messaging platform, primarily geared toward gamers, will soon make messages from public servers accessible via Google search.
No fewer than 63,000 servers are affected by this change, which will take effect starting in mid-December 2026. Web pages will be created for each eligible server starting November 16. Of course, there are prerequisites. Only public servers with at least 1,000 members will be listed on Google. Private servers, private messages, and group chats are not included. What's more, only messages from adult accounts will be visible.
With this measure, Discord aims to make it easier for communities to find each other online and get faster answers to questions users may have. Finally, server owners will still be able to disable this feature through the settings.
